I purchased the roof rails specifically for a fly rod quiver. Like other reviewers, I was impressed by the construction. It is solid! Installs relatively easily, HOWEVER, when installed on my 2020 JL, the bracket hooks (hook down on the outside and underside of the rain channels) rub the rear door weatherstripping when opening and closing the doors. The brackets are marked JL, so I know I got the correct ones. But the shape of the hooks do not exactly match the shape/contour of the rain channels, so the hooks protrude lower than they could. I will overlook the design flaw, but I expect it will damage the door weatherstripping over time.
Looks and fits great. This top element passed the bar.
The design is extremely difficult to put on and take off. They give you pads to adhere to the roof but the clamp cut right through them all on the first use. The clamps gave my roof at least 3 pretty good gouges, which show white and are extremely visible.
As well, the bars are only about a half inch off the roof, so attaching things like a kayak rack are impossible without gerryrigging something. Once I got them on, they rode so low that they too gouged the roof.
The bars are clunky and weigh a ton, so getting them on and off became a challenge as well. In barricade’s video on YouTube, you can even tell the demo girl struggles with them because they keep cutting the video when she needs to do any major moving of the bars or attachment pieces…
It was so difficult and caused so many issues that I ate $120 returning them after three days of fighting with it.
This heavy duty roof rack can be a life saver for moving just about anything you can tie down because it’s easily adjustable and mounts securel.
