Barricade’s Classic Rear Bumper features two high strength D-Ring mounts with two 3/4″ D-Rings that are rated at 9,500 lb. and a 2 inch receiver making it ideal for all types of recovery operations.
Heavy Duty Construction. Barricade Off-Road manufactures their Classic Rear Bumper to precise specifications from 5/32″ thick mild steel plating for superior strength and rigidity. Barricade then completes the entire Bumper in a high-grade satin black powder coated finish for long lasting durability. The D-Ring mounts are welded both inside and outside for extra strength.
Bolt-on Installation. The Barricade Classic Rear Bumper was smartly designed to be a direct bolt-on solution for all Jeeps. As a direct fit replacement, this Barricade Rear Bumper uses all factory mounting points and requires no additional cutting, welding, or fabrication for installation. This Bumper even includes the required hardware needed for installation.
Application. This Barricade Off-Road Classic Rear Bumper is specifically designed for use on 1986-2006 Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ models. Please note, the built-in receiver hitch is not rated for towing.
This is a nice bumper. Looks good and appears to be heavy enough to pull a trailer using the receiver on the bumper. I’m a bit concerned to find out if it will be heavy enough for recovery operations.
The package did not contain replacement bolts for the under-frame tabs that must be installed. The original bolts that I removed to take off the old bumper were usable except for not having heavy washers.
As noted by other reviewers, putting in the bolts that are needed on the inside ends of the mounting plates (2 on each side) is going to be extremely difficult as the area is inaccessible. I left those bolts out for now, but will find a way to install them at a later time. I think they are absolutely required if the bumper is to tow the rated weight or be used in recovery operations. I also have an issue with the unpainted bolt heads so visible on each end of the top of the bumper. They should have been painted to match the bumper.
I think I would have chosen a different bumper if I had had a chance to inspect this bumper before buying. With that said I think it will do the job and definitely looks nicer than my old stock bumper.
I purchased this bumper because I was looking to upgrade my stock bumper, and add a hitch. When looking at options to get a hitch welded onto my jeep, I quickly realized how expensive/destructive the process would be.
This bumper was well priced and made with excellent quality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve the look of their vehicle, while adding practical features like a hitch.
The install was on the harder side for hobbyists who don’t work on cars but want to make some upgrades to their vehicle, but for anyone who is used to working on vehicles it would be an easy upgrade.
Went on quick. I did not chose to drill out the 4 holes. Used mainly for flag mount..
Bought front & rear bumpers. They are awesome love the way they made my jeep look
