Barricade's Tailgate Assist uses a damping strut to slowly and smoothly open your Sierra's tailgate when unlatched, preventing it from just dropping open. The Tailgate Assist is ideal for those times when you only have one free hand to open your tailgate.

Simple, Bolt-on Installation. Barricade designed their Tailgate Assist to be a direct bolt-on upgrade reusing existing factory mounting points. There is no drilling or modifications required for a simple straight forward install. With just a set of basic hand tools this Barricade Tailgate Assist can be installed in less then 30 minutes.

Application. The Barricade Tailgate Assist is designed to fit all 2007-2018 GMC Sierra 1500 models.

I am pleasantly suprised on the quality of this product and how it works. I was skeptical in the Beginning but it is just as described and more importantly it stops my tailgate from slamming down when opening and is why i wanted it and the exact reason why I brought it.
