Barricade HD Tire Carrier with Spare Tire Mount (18-25 Jeep Wrangler JL, Excluding 4xe)

At first I really like this as it looked great and it is a really solid tire carrier, very strong. But after having it only two weeks I started seeing rust leaking from it onto my bumper. After another week it had rust all over the bumper. It was really nasty and looked awful. Not sure what I’m going to do here but my jeep is brand new, only has 1500 miles on it and I don’t want rust streaking down on it.

Easy to install and it make the jeep looks great. Took some doing but once we aligned the door, it fit nice..

This tire carrier looks nice. We just put it on Saturday so we will see how it holds up. The install was pretty straight forward for the most part. The printed instructions skipped steps and listed incorrect tools needed. Thankfully I'm married to a mechanic and he had all the tools needed. The video on the product page was the more helpful but still skipped a step or two but we figured it out in the end. The bracket that holds the camera was bent upon arrival and we didn't notice until we were ready to mount it so we just had to bend it back into place since the tire carrier was already on the vehicle. After the carrier was installed there was a hole open that looked like it needed a plug or something, we didn't have any bolts left so we just put some electrical tape over it until we can find something to plug the hole. We tested the closure to make sure it lined up before we put everything together and it did. The carrier itself is super heavy so I think it will hold up well.

Does the job but…. Poorly designed product. Adds to much weight when adding oversized tires, lug nuts are too short and will set off you back up sensors from viewing rims and are not the same as jlu jeep wrangler so can’t use add on accessory’s like third brake light relocation kit from mopar and barricade does not offer one. No installation instructions so install is not simple. Will mark your paint and cause it to rust and hurt resale value. Very disappointed with the product and how it came out after wasting few hours to install. Could see someone spending whole day to install if they don’t prepare themselves properly with correct tools and a plan to install. I had to modify with jeep stock carrier to get it to work the way it should work. If they marketed to use in conjunction with jeeps tire carrier they would save customers money and have less weight.

Fit was tough for a 35" tire. Weight of tire makes the tailgate hit the bumper. Had to some mods for it to work.
