I installed this today. I didn't want to add a bunch of weight with an aftermarket bumper, and damaged stock parts are so easy to replace. I didn't follow the instructions. The pictures were difficult to see anyway. First, I put the two lower bracket pieces on, and secured them with the reused 16mm bolts, but not thoroughly tightened yet. Then I put the top part or the actual winch plate on. I tightened all the bolts that came with the winch plate, and lastly tightened the 16mm bolts. When I put the bumper back on, the top nuts on the insides require an 18mm box end wrench, because you're not fitting a socket on it with the way the winch plate bracket is designed. There is an open hole on the bottom of the brackets, and the winch plate didn't come with a bolt for it, so I used an extra one that came with the winch. It had a hole that lined up with the frame, so why not use it. The plastic trim piece that goes across the top between the bumper and grill no longer fits. I cut the center out of mine so I could at least use it to cover the frame. I also ended up putting some gorilla tape over the grill where my winch cables are likely to rub. There's very little room between the winch plate and the grill. Overall, it's sturdy and wasn't overly difficult to install. I get to keep my plastic bumper, and have plenty of access to the factory tow hooks.
