Removable Cross Bars. Barricade Off-Road designed their roof rack with removable cross bars to allow for different size cargo loads and easy removal of either a soft or hard top without the need to disassemble the entire rack.
Application. The Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is specifically designed to fit the 2007-2018 2-Door Jeep Wrangler JKs only, does not fit 4-Door JK models. Weight capacity 350 lb.
Please Note. This Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack is not designed for rollover protection. Bolt on application works in conjunction with aftermarket rear bumper.
With the 2 door JK, the racks were kind of limited for an RTT. I came across this one and decided on it. Quick delivery and very easy install! I went with mounting it to the frame vs the body. My tent fit perfect and there is still some room for mounting smaller things around it. I also love the fact that it has light mounts on the front and back and that you can still have the top off in the summer months. Very happy with this roof rack!
The directions were very clear. It holds the construction material I transport really well.
it does the job. i bought it to carry my kayak without letting it scratch up my soft top. wasn’t too hard to install, but there were a couple of things that suggested it was used/returned, not new. one of the rear frame brackets was bent in such a way that the bolt wouldn’t bite without some convincing and two of the cross bars had bent flanges such that they didn’t sit quite right, one of them wouldn’t fit at all. also, one of the parts bags had a heat seal that had been partially cut loose and the bag re-closed with staples. now that its installed, if you look real close it looks like the rack might be slightly off-canter, i have to wonder if that’s because of that bent rear mounting plate.
The rack was easy to assemble and looks great! I love the fact that I don’t have to remove it to change tops.
We bought this to haul kayaks on our 2-door soft top JK. Packaging was great, everything was there. Took longer than expected to install, mainly because the rear frame mount was finicky but we got it done. Some of the tubes definitely could have bolted tighter/flusher together. Our main gripe is the wind noise. Anything over about 40 mph and it howls like wind over a giant soda bottle, pretty much unbearable, definitely couldn’t handle it on long trips. Ended up wrapping rope around the front bar to break-up the airflow between it and the top of the windshield frame… not ideal but it works. The rack is very stable, handles our kayaks great.
