Easy, Bolt-on Installation. Barricade’s F-150 Brush Guards are engineered to be a direct bolt-on upgrade using just basic hand tools, so there is no drilling required for a clean straight forward installation. All hardware for installation is included, making this an easy job for anyone to complete. F-150 models that are not equipped with tow hooks will require some trimming to the factory plastic lower bumper cover.
Application. This Gloss Black Barricade Extreme Heavy Duty Brush Guard is specifically is specifically designed to be used on the 2015 to 2020 F-150s. Additionally this will be specific to F-150s not equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) or Forward Collision Warning Systems. It is not compatible on Raptor models.
Technical Note. The Brush Guard may interfere with the function of front parking sensors and front camera, if equipped. Also the Brush Guard may partially block airflow getting to the intercooler on EcoBoost models.
Assembly of this grill guard did kinda suck. I had 2 other guys help me install it and would recommend you get help with assembling and installing. The kit didn’t come with the right amount of bolts and nuts needed for assembling. The instructions for assembling is very vague. I wish the instructions were a little more precise and had a list of hardware needed. I watch the YouTube video and that did help a lot but I didn’t have nearly the hardware needed compared to the YouTube video. There is also some rubber trim around each section of the guard. I did like it but the rubber would peal off easily which made assembly kinda a pain. But once very thing was together and it was installed it looks sweet and is sturdy.
I took this to a shop to install and glad that I did. Dropped it off for a few hours and still came back to them fighting to get the guard aligned. The shop was impressed with the welding but stated the hardware was a little small for what they would recommend, stated going to a grade 6 bolt would bring this to a new level. Might upgrade the hardware later.
Be prepared to spent a good bit of money on this guard, but it is worth every penny. It will take a good bit of your day installing it and you’ll need a couple extra hands. It’s durable, well-built, and makes the truck look aggressive. Look on YouTube for help with the instructions. It may seem confusing at first but it’s easy once you get the hang of it.
The install took us about 1 1/2 hours. Everything was pretty simple. Use the YouTube video for the instructions. I recommend having either an impact wrench or 1/2 inch breaker bar with a cheater bar to loosen the nuts on the bumper. 4 on the front, 2 on the back of the bumper. 1 on the driver and passenger side on the back near the fog light assembly.
The brush guard is very well built and looks good after the install.
Easy to install, looks great. Heavy duty and hopefully if I hit a deer again it will take the brunt and do less damage to truck. Time will tell in an area of heavy population of deer and me traveling at grazing times. Had to YouTube directions on install, took about an hour.
