Daytime Running Lights. This Barricade Extreme HD Modular Front Bumper also includes Daytime Running Lights (DRL). These LED DRL lights come with a wiring harness that simply splices into your F-150’s existing factory headlight harness. The LEDs will then automatically activate in conjunction with your running lights. These eye-catching LEDs not only look great, but will also make your F-150 more visible to other drivers at night and in poor weather conditions.
High Quality Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty 5/32 inch steel plating for superior strength, this Barricade Front Bumper is cold formed into shape. After trimming and final finishing Barricade then completes their Bumper in a two stage finish using epoxy pre-coating and high-grade textured black powder coating for durability and long lasting corrosion resistance.
Direct Bolt-On Installation. Barricade engineered their Extreme HD Modular Front Bumper to be a direct bolt-on replacement for your original stock bumper reusing the factory hardware and mounting points. There is no cutting or modifications required for a clean straight forward installation. Installation can be completed in about two hours with just basic hand tools and the help of a friend.
Application. This Barricade Extreme HD Modular Front Bumper with LED DRL is designed to fit 2015-2017 Ford F-150 models, excluding Raptor.
I like the bumper itself, easy install, looks good and is of sturdy construction that I would say will withstand moderate use. Not HD as advertised, though this was what I expected so no big disappointment there. The bumper corners where it wraps around towards the wheel opening are significantly narrower than the factory bumper. This is obvious by the pictures on the website, just be aware that some modifications are necessary if you want a clean look in front of the wheel opening. The narrow coverage allows the frame extension arms and grill vent duct to show. They hang below the bumper corner enough to look crappy unless you remove the arms and cut the vent duct. I am comfortable doing these mods and was expecting to have to perform them, just putting the info out there….
The daytime running lights (DRL) are not as described. The description leads you to believe that the supplied harness is plug and play right into your factory harness and upon installation you will have control of the DRL with your factory light switch. Not the case here. It comes with a cheesy separate on off switch that, per the instructions requires drilling into the firewall so that the supplied switch can be installed in the cab. So unless I received the wrong harness, it isn’t as described. Didn’t install the wiring and don’t plan to without modifications so that I can use the factory light switch to control all lights.
